These elections count, there is no electoral college that decides your vote.  Even if you don't think it matters, it does especially for the town and school board elections. I'm going out to vote and then to the range.

Heading out to vote as well.
Just point me to the "NO" button for all those extra proposals.

Bill de Blasio mayor elect of NY. At least he is open about being progressive and was elected as such. I think they will learn to regret it as many have done with Obama but at least he doesnt hide his believes like so many Democrats (plus two independents that always vote Democratic) and many Republicans (RINOs).

“We are united in the belief that our city should leave no New Yorker behind. The people of this city have chosen a progressive path, and tonight we set forth on it together as one city.”

I think our re-elected governor will be the next president.

Not a chance IMO. He is too loud and confrontational.

If that's who the GOP puts up, we'll be looking at eight years of Hilary. The GOP if they're serious, they'll push the RINO's to irrelevancy and come clean with a legitimate candidate. There's no reason with the never ending blunder and scandal machine the democratic party has given us for years now that we should get another democrat in 2016 in the white house.

I think that is why he will be successful. At first I hated him, he took away benefits, made me pay more for pension. After hurricane Sandy I think he is the best.

I think that works well in your area. Calls from New England are always from people that we hate because they are so rude and entitled. Coming off that way down here will get you hated or beat up.

Why did hurricane Sandy change the way you feel about him? He still did all those previous things.

Many are enamored with Christie just for the simple chance to get some cash from the $61 billion dollar federal relief that was acquired for NJ and NY.

Mind you $61 billion to put it into perspective is 5% of the total federal tax revenue for the entire country the 2012 tax year.

There were proposals put forth to pay out the $61 billion over three years, keeping accounting and oversight in check.  This didn't happen.  They wanted all the money now.  Now much of the funds can't be allocated, or accounted for, what a shock.

Mind you, we the US has to borrow the money to pay out.  This cost wasn't offset from cutting expenditures elsewhere.  It was simply net new debt spending.

There's a growing trend to satisfy an immediate need now, gotta have it now, foregoing what this does for our future.  Somehow in the future things will slow down, we'll all be prosperous, and we'll all be able pay this tax obligation back.  :/

This $61 billion in relief aid sounds good on the surface.  But when we look at what tends to transpire, it's a big money grab for large corporations and those with connections.  The ploy, this money is to aid individuals with loans to rebuild, isn't predominately where this money ends up.

There are stories after stories of people stating insurance has low balled any payments and a year later FEMA, HUD, HFTC, CDBG still aren't providing payouts any any notable quantity.

We learn the same company responsible for constructing the failure of Healthcare.gov (CGI) got awarded a $4.3 million no bid contract to dole out $1.7 billion in relief funds, of which simply hasn't occurred in any amount of substantive dollar amount.

It was reported by the AP in late October 2013 that only 700 million of the $61 billion has been paid out in total  This is 1.2% of the $61 billion.

We have Christie himself which has used $5 million on pseudo relief TV ads, ie campaign commercials with him showing he cares.

Hundreds of people up and down Tom's River are less than enthused.  The tens of thousands that are still out of their homes with zero aid over a year later are becoming disgruntle.  Rightfully so.  Though the intent for the $61 billion just like most other publically stated government promises, wasn't genuine and had ulterior motives behind the scenes.  That's what they're not telling you at the podium. You won't hear about this in stump speeches or acceptance speeches.

Mr. Christie joins other RINO's like Peter King from NY supporting NSA spying on Americans and continues to attack hard core conservatives like Rand Paul and Ted Cruz.

Some would tend to evaluate Mr. Christie and others on actual actions and results, not what they say in front of the podium on TV.  This is where the true indication of character can be evaluated for integrity and genuine honesty on promises implied or stated.

The established GOP is slamming and running away from the Tea Party but the two presidential candidates the establishment picked lost against a no name senator and then again an nearly openly communist President. The Tea Party is the ONLY reason the Representatives have the House.

We're not considered New England, we are the Mid-Atlantic group.
When Sandy came, this guy was non-stop 24/7 traveling the state, visiting our area where the ocean burst in and even put politics aside when Obummer came up to see the damage. A month or so back, we had a major fire that destroyed a good part of the boardwalk that was destroyed in the hurricane, he was right there to see what he could do. Is it showboating? To some degree, but I feel our state has become better and is on the way to fiscal responsibility with him in charge.
Another point, if he didn't veto all the nonsense gun legislation that was proposed we would all have to leave the state and move to Texas.Laughing
