On federal land but privately run. Yet federal govt won't let them open. It doesnt make sense except to cause as much pain as you can to the ordinary person. I mean what does it hurt to let people drive on an already paved road or to pull over to the shoulder to look atva mountain?

And ifbthe govt is shut down and we are about out if money then where is this money coming from to pay the "essential" personal and the 400,000 pentagon personal ordered back to work??????

Ironically the government is only 17% shutdown viewed from a spending perspective, otherwise it's business as usually. Just for good fiduciary measures DoD rushed $5 billion in new spending on September 30th, buying drones for France and a bunch of other military crap we simply have no way to pay for. DoD methodology seems to be to combat guys with box cutters and AK's that swing across monkey bars with a $450 billion joint tactical stealth attack fighter bomber super duper sonic boom multi role program.

They can just keep the thing shut down and shut more of it down. Accounting indicates we can't only pay and afford half of what is is they do annually. So at the minimum they should shut down 50% just to balance revenue and spending.

It might be a good time to shut that thang down.
