Poor Boeing can't get a break with the 787. We'll see if it's battery related again.

If so, they'll need to fall on the sword and admit the lithium-ion batteries ain't ready for prime time.

It looks to be battery related again but it could be that more aircraft types than the 787 that are affected .

“It is recommended that the Federal Aviation Administration, in association with other regulatory authorities, conduct a safety review of installations of Lithium-powered Emergency Locator Transmitter systems in other aircraft types and, where appropriate, initiate airworthiness action.”

... I'd agree especially considering the instances of lithium-ion laptops, hybrids etc. bursting into flames. Consider the 787 a Chevy Volt with wings.

Poor analogy as the 787 would have to experience a severe crash and sit in a scrap yard for 2-3 weeks before catching fire.

Chevrolet had a written battery discharge procedure for discharging the battery pack that NHSTA didn't follow but refuse to comment on.
