Our public education system doing what it does best. It's not a surprise our education system is turning out the product it does. This is just part of the issue, but its a part.

If it's anything like around here the teachers probably had a half-day and were getting valuable teaching techniques etc while on the clock.

What's sad, when I attended public school I had excellent educators of which I had the fortune of being a student. Still remember their names and memories of time spent learning.

I can't imagine Mr. Sampson, Mrs. Hightower, or Mr. Bradshaw participating in such. Though I would love to see what they would say or how they would react when watching that display, and what more it says about our public education system today.

Without a doubt there are educators who attempt to walk the line of personal integrity and actually educate students they're own way. Their hands are now tied by the administration, school district policies, and government agencies who have instrumented oversight and policy dictating what's taught and how to teach it removing any individuality the teacher themselves might possess personally to educate students. The curriculum that's taught today is now laced with progressive agenda, actually re-writing history in many cases.

My mom retired a few years ago and stopped classroom teaching 7 or 8 years before that all because it turned into being a baby sitter with an itinerary. She was the gym and health teacher for a while because that was the only was she was able to educate children her way. That was after she was pulling kids out for enrichment and extra help, and they tied her hands with that...

The government knows how to do it better than the individuals actually attempting to do the job.  Silly us.  Government knows how to do everything right, when something goes wrong, it's not they're fault, they're not responsible, they do however impose more government and over sight take away more of our individual capability, freedom, self guidance and responsibility.  They know better than you do after all.  Government is of the belief we can legislate and spend our way into this Utopian society.  Well that's what they tell us, what they're really after is control.  Everything is about control to them.
