| My wife and I are heading down to Florida for 2 weeks in August, about 1200 miles of driving, something we've done a few times in the past. What do you all bring along to pass the time, make you more comfortable? We'll be in my truck, so we have a crew cab truck and all it's room at our disposal. luggage will be in the bed in a tuff truck bag. So give me some ideas please ! One of my pet peeves is resting my left arm on the edge of the door panel, not wide enough to be comfy for too long but a place my arm goes back to out of habit. Is there something out there to help this, anything, homemade , commercial???? ____________________________________ 2019 Toyota Crewmax SR5 in Super White Leer color matched cap More to come !

| That's a tough one - GM seats, arm rests and center consoles lack comfort. I had to continuously preposition arms, back, butt, and legs. | |

| I find that a good audio book makes the time pass easier. We make a 770 mile trip up to Colorado each year and it helps out quite a bit. Leaving out well before sunrise helps too. 13hrs one way gets monotonous. | |

I like that idea a lot ! Where do you ususally get something like that? We ususally hit the road around 3 am,nice to have a few hours before the sunrises! ____________________________________ 2019 Toyota Crewmax SR5 in Super White Leer color matched cap More to come !

| I get them in the book section of Wal-Mart, but any bookstore should carry them.
They generally are a box set of CD's. It takes hours and hours to get through one.
Amazon.com is another sure bet.

| I think if you put a couple of kids in the back seat, they will start to argue. After yelling at them for 1100 miles, before you know it, your there. I have 2 loaners I can let you borrow. They are heading to FLA in July, but are taking the short cut - flight out of Atlantic City. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| I'll just leave them at a rest area and if you see them, take them along. We did that drive before we had kids, we made it down without stopping to sleep, but for some reason we always took a room on the way back. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

Well that would depend if the TSA determines it needs to message your genitals for you to be able to board the plane. Qualify comfortable We happened to fly out of Orlando the first week in January 2012 when they first started to pat you down and look through your luggage. They had National Guardsmen with their AR's watching everyone since they were not staffed with the TSA yet. As I go through the metal detector, the guardsman asked that I put my hands on the wall and asks politely if they can search in my pants. What are you going to do, say no? So I let them and the whole time is yelling at me to get my ass in gear so we don't miss the flight. Did she really expect me to just listen to her and walk away from a guy with a loaded gun and handcuffs? I still laugh about that. If I fly and have a beard, I get searched, without it, never. It's a pain in the ass, but I don't have a problem with it. At least one of these times you think they would use a woman and give me a happy ending. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

Having communication with the Guardsman reminding them of their oath to the Constitution and particularly the 4th Amendment might be a good place to start in keeping what civil liberties we do have left. Dereliction of duty to uphold the oath comes to mind. I seriously dislike flying because of the TSA and make no bones about it. If they encroach on civil liberties we're all within our right to redress them right then and there on the spot. Else they'll simply increase the inspection into something additional. There was a recent survey done where 30% of respondents stated they would allow the TSA to search body cavities to allow them to fly. I'm prepared now not be permitted to fly, if the TSA demands that I submit to an unlawful request of my person or property.

| The TSA is all just an overpriced smokescreen created to lull the masses into a false sense of security.
Secondary is to get us used to surrendering our rights.
And its working.

| Every day the government is chipping away at our rights a little bit at a time.
A few years ago my wife's grandmother died and she lived in FLA. It was a quick one day Jewish service so only my wife went (my kids claim they are not Jewish especially at Christmas when their Irish Catholic). When we got to the Atlantic City Airport I noticed the TSA inspector was a judo student of mine. We walked up as far as we could until my wife had to be screened. I called out to Mark, he looks over, says hello to me, realizes my wife is standing there, says hello with a big smile and proceeds to have her take her shoes off for him to check. Just blindly following orders. Mark is now a county sheriff in Denver. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| The sheriff is the highest elected law enforcement official. Lets' hope mark takes his oath to the Constitution like any that take the oath should, demonstrating his oath day in and day out. | |

I work in the security industry. The whole premise they use to address security is wrought from the start. With true security you want your focus to be on risk and eliminating the most risk possible. Your time shouldn't be chastising 80 year olds for not putting their liquids in a zip lock bag. It should be evaluation of those who pose legitimate risk. You know ones the fit the profile, have indicators of behavior, known communications and accomplices that are suspect. But that isn't their intent. The intent with the TSA and DHS is entire population control. It's security theater, it's also a jobs program. I've never seen more incompetence demonstrated many times over accompanied with zero professionalism, than when going though a TSA checkpoint in an airport. Americans have bought into this whole terrorism thing, hook, line and sinker. They are scared of everything now. The power structure has been selling this forever scary war on terror over and over and over every chance they get. Looks like it worked. We're now spending 60% percent of all tax revenue on defense and security and going more broke by the day.
