Clay Bar Empty
PostSubject: Clay Bar   Clay Bar EmptyMay 24th 2013, 8:51 pm

I bought Mothers Clay Bar and would like to do my truck over the weekend unless there is still too much pollen in the air. Truck is really dirty and I would like to get it clean and finally put a good coat of wax when I'm done. I've never done a clay bar before but after seeing a coworkers jeep looking so good, it makes me want to do my vehicles.

Since my truck is black it should make a big difference but how much it will make on white is a good question.

A labor of love. I never tried it. There's a few videos on youtube.

I used the Mothers kit, never did it ever before, but the results were amazing, time consuming but not difficult at all!

I had the embedded rail dust that turns rusty after a while and a clay bar is the only means to remove, and it did it wonderfully.

Clay bars are great for removing impediments attached to the paint. Just be patient and methodical one panel at a time.

You can also use the water hose instead of the included quick detailer to keep the clay sliding smoothly.

If you perform the job in a quiet place you can actually hear the clay run across rough areas where impediments or embedded contaminates are present..

Pinch off a small piece of clay from the large block about a 1/4 of the entire block, rotate frequently, and you'll have good results.

I still can't do it today, the pollen is still way too strong. When a breeze kicks up it almost makes the street look like fog is moving in off the bay.
