It has a 17460lb tow rating on the truck. Fully loaded, my trailer might be 8500lbs. Tongue weight is 1156 on it empty. I have a weight distribution hitch too.

2,533LBS--PayLoad
17,460LBS--Tow Rating

Thats for my 2017 2WD Crew Cab, Short Bed, Automatic, 6.7Cummins with 3.42 Gear Ratio

Doing a little work in the camper on Saturday, hanging a different shower curtain rod, giving it a good cleaning and loading up the RZR for Labor Day Weekend.

Pulled great out to East TX and back. Little over 11mpg round trip.
The exhaust brake is a wonderful thing. Integrated Brake Controller is acting up though. Other than that, first trip towing was a success.

Glad it was a good trip. I didn't have an exhaust brake on my diesel, that would have been nice. So far my integrated controller has worked great.

I need to double check all the wiring on the trailer. Worked fine with the Titan's controller, but still could be a bare wire or lose ground somewhere.

Got a backup camera and airbags coming in for the Ram. Never installed the bags on the Titan, so I sold them for what I paid. Still have the wireless compressor for the bags too.

Might try to install all that this weekend if the stuff gets here on time.

Toy Hauler has a water leak on the sink drain in the kitchen area too. Got to fix that before next trip out at the end of the month.

Nice truck. I have a 2004 Dodge Cummins. Been running 540hp 1100 tq for years now. Nice thing about it is it was the last year of no emissions. No cat or egr.

Regarding the trailer tongue weight like was mentioned earlier, be careful. Sway is caused by loading the rear of a trailer. Weight on the tongue is your friend. I added air bags and just air up when the ass drops.

The color is awesome. Mine is also white. Never have to wash it LOL

I've got a weight distribution and sway control hitch I use with it, still a little tongue down even with the RZR loaded. No sway with it yet.

And I have a 90 gallon fresh water tank I could fill thats in front of the axles if things get uneven.

Hoot,
I can remember back when a tree fell on your truck. I don't remember if that was on the Pick-up forum or the diesel place. How has life been treating you?

Hey my friend, lifes been pretty good overall. Still married going on 29 years next month. We lost our 20 year old daughter to the heroin scourge in 2011. The Dodge has been a beast.just love the sound. Not as refined as the Dmax but love the no emission equipment aspect.
Whole different world these days with people, politics, cars and trucks. Did we ever meet at one of those GTG's?

Nice to see some names from the past. Thinking of all those 90's forums: the wacky thedieselpage member-only forum, that PSD forum that later became thedieselstop (I think Ford owned the PSD trade name).

I can't remember my old user names from back then.

No we didn't. I remember posting back and forth a few times as we both had the DMax. Mine was a 2002. I don't know why I remember thinks like the tree falling on your truck, but I do. I live at the Jersey shore near Long Beach Island.

I still every few months go to the Diesel Place. Usually when I need to find out a repair for my current truck. They have a section on gassers, same body as the diesels, so I find it helpful.

Was Brooker the member that claimed to have a zillon miles on his DMax and did improvements to the rear end of his truck (a cooling fan or something)? Worked at a concrete company?

Yea. I tried to meet up with him almost happened once. He was from New England. We were all skeptical of his mileage numbers due to the amount of maintenance in the short periods of time he owned them. In the end I think he was legit.

Here is like the last post I saw from him. It was on the ratty GM-Diesel.com page that's now defunct. I get a kick out of reading it from so long ago. He was talking about me after I traded the Dmax for the Dodge. He was correct I had some death wobble issues but it was partly my fault for installing BFG's. They had 2ply flimsy sidewalls. I haven't had a hint of death wobble in probably 140,000 miles and 10 years. As far as what he said about it not running well... it was in reference to the death wobble issue. Never had any engine running issue ever.

I remember pictures when the tree fell on your truck.
Showing the post from Broker brings back a lot of memories of his posts. At times I thought he was ahead of the curve in what he did to improve his truck, other times I found it impossible to believe he did some of the things he claimed. What made me leery of him at the time was he talked about being in a concrete plant, a job I did for 18 years. But when I would comment on something about the business he never directly answered or ignored it completely. These were common things about the job that anyone associated with the business would know.

Every so often I see a similar 2002 Chevy DMax like the one I owned and wish I still owned it. At the time I sold it I had a little over 120,000 miles on it. If the injectors were more reliable, I would have kept it much longer. I didn't want to put $4,000 to $5,000 for new ones (I wouldn't do that job myself). The rest of the truck was in excellent condition. I used it for firewood and towing a fifth wheel. If I were to buy a diesel again, it would be a dually and I lean towards a GM, still like the Allison, but would consider the Dodge also. Ford diesels never hit it out of the park for me.

Yea I loved my Dmax. But had the same reservations about the injectors. My truck basically has the exact same injection system but by 2004 I think Bosch got the bugs out. I went on a tour of the Dmax plant back in 03 I think. Also toured the AM General plant that built the 6.5 diesel.

I had propane injection on my Dmax. First the tree fell on it and then I ended up overdoing it and blew the head gasket. Had it repaired under warranty by Eric Merchant before he started his own Dmax business. He was working at a dealer in Grand Rapids MI. I drove the truck in the winter from SE PA to the dealership. Got a hotel room and was there for 2 or 3 days. Eric let me hang with him during the day while he did the job. It was pretty cool watching my engine getting major work done.

And so I decided to trade it in 04

Here is the headgasket breach...

That was a nice truck when you traded it in, still looked new. I traded in a 98 Dodge 2500 when I bought my DMax, ordered it on December 1, and got it on Valentines day the next year. I bought it from Reedman's. In between ordering it, and it coming in, a $3,000 rebate came in. I was surprised when I went to write out the check and the dealer said 3K less than the deal we made.
Before I retired, I went to a water customers house on a complaint (I worked for a municipal water/wastewater), and the guy had an 03 DMax. Turns out it is a small world, he took his truck out to WI to have custom work on his truck. He took it to John Kennedy, a name that was big on the Diesel Place and maybe still his. The truck, besides hunting and fishing were his passion in life. We got along great. My boss was surprised that I got along with this fellow since he had been a thorn in our side for a few years. It was seldom a water problem, but being municipal government he called about any complaint in the township.

John was the go to guy for sure. Spoke to him on the phone a few times. Before I put a second Cat Filter on my truck I was ordering Baldwin fuel filters from him by the case.

Back in 2002 Johns daughter was going to school in Michigan and he stopped by my house with his "new" 2002 Dmax. He had just installed a 5" exhaust if my memory is correct.

Lived in Wisconsin for 4 yrs, wanted to stop by his place but was the other side of the state.

Pulled the outdoor faucet on the Toy Hauler to check where the leak is. Found that the cold water inlet on the faucet was cross threaded and leaking a bit, and the bottom elbow on the indoor sink drain wasn't glued.

Couple more trips and I'll have the assembly of that bitch finalized.

Also, those are some damn nice rides Hoot.
