| I do all the work/mtc on the RZR. Even the tires are on beadlock wheels making mounting/dismounting easy too.
Toy Hauler needs state inspection, it consists of checking the lights and paying 7 dollars. My utility trailer doesn't need inspection. Its under 7500lbs gvwr, so its exempt. I pay the registration over the internet and they mail me a new plate sticker every year.
MSRP on the 3 was around 100k, actual prices paid was 75k or so.

| They go by the gvwr of a trailer here. They dont care what it is, just the capacity. |

| Do out of state visitors need to get it done if they plan on camping in Texas? ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| No. As long as it has legal plates on it from where you are bringing it in from, it is fine. Just like your truck or car.
Used to not matter, but a couple years ago, they tied renewing your plates to having a valid inspection. I never bothered getting a trailer inspected until then, and 99% of the rest of Texas didnt either.
It was a problem that didn't need solving.
Now that its being "enforced", I fully expect the inspection cost to rise. Just another tax. |

| It is always about the money. Just another way for the state to put their hand in your pocket. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| Yep, any trailer over 4500 lbs gvwr has to have a safety inspection before you can get tags. Its like 12$. They check the lights and brakes. And yes it is a tax thing. It is easy to get around on cars if you don't mind braking the law (there are plenty of illegals here that do). People just print out 'temp tags' or 'paper plates'. They are good for a couple months. Then they can change the date and print them out again. You would be amazed at he number of old beaters with paper plates. |

| I think the 7500 is just for RVs but ya, a buddy of mine was telling me about that. Haven't actually read it. |

| Personally I think all trailers need inspection, too many POS trailers on the roads. |

| I've been told I'm towing my trailer to New Hampshire in two weeks when school is out so my daughter can see Dartmouth University again. We will stay a week then go to NY State to see a couple other colleges. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| Believe it or not here in commieland oops I mean NY. You're supposed to have your trailer inspected yearly. I usually just pick up a sticker from a friend except when brakes need adjusting or something needs welded. It's kept in my driveway and not used very often. Since I took my truck off the road for winter and needed some work I've been too lazy to do, it hasn't moved at all this year so far. |
