yup, kinda funny but I had to add a couple sandbags to the rear to get this thing to ride decent. WAY stiffer than my ram was, but it handles weight really good, trade offs for everything I suppose. ____________________________________ 2023 Tundra Crewmax Platinum 4x4 2016 Tundra Crewmax Platinum 4x4 2013 Ram 1500 Sport 4x4, 5.7, 8-speed, Maximum Steel Metallic 2010 Tundra 4x4 5.7 , 33" Cooper ST Maxx on RW Wheels (sold)

| For me, it looks better than the previous square everything design. Heck they even added rounded wheel wells. Wonder if someone turned over in their grave. It will be interesting to see which diesel engine option they added. | |

| I had to find a pic of the 2019 GMC Sierra to compare it to. It's just as funky looking. Perhaps a tad better overall, but still weird. The current Sierra is a vastly better looking rig than either one of the 2019's. | |

| GM announced a new 3L inline 6 cylinder diesel for the 1500 attached to the 10 speed auto. No details yet. They say it will be best mpg in it's class. I'm thinking GM is hitting this thing out of the park. | |

| The inline 6 has historically been good for torque and pretty decent for FE. I'm wondering what GM manages to pull off here. | |

| Surprising no one found any preliminary EPA applications etc for this apparently new engine. Wonder if it was all done in house or a Cummins effort?
Looks like BMW and Mercedes have inline 6 cylinder 3L diesels but doubtful they would be engine suppliers.

| Be interesting to see it get better than the estimated 30MPG the Ford diesel will get. Good things happening. | |

| I will take a regular cab long bed 4x4 W/T trim , I am torn between a v8 or the diesel , assuming GM will even sell the diesel in the base model . | |

| That incredible opposed piston engine has been making the rounds for so long it would be nice if it finally materialized. It checks all the boxes- light weight, less expensive to manufacture, less moving parts, theoretically more reliable, less emissions, diesel like performance, diesel like fuel economy. What's not to like?
It would be a risk but I'd probably opt for that!

| I wasn't too thrilled with the side sculpting of the front fenders but it sounds like they have an aero function so I can handle that. There are some new features that do sound good. The I6 diesel is definitely interesting. | |

| Has this I6 been used anywhere else? The Ram 3.0 was proven in Europe. The Ford 3.0 was proven in Jag/RR. The GM 2.8l I4 babymax was proven in the east. I'm not a big fan of owning first year of these proven designs. If the I6 is unproven, I'll pass for now. | |

| I haven't seen any info about the new 3L inline 6. GM is building it so I would guess it's a new in-house effort. Maybe that's how they were able to keep it so quiet.

I would have to agree with Charlie on this one. I had the new DuraMax diesel 1st generation in my 2002. Injector issues were expected if you owned one at the cost of about $5,000. People had to replace them more than once, then finally the redesign ended that issue. I sold my 2002 with 124,000 miles because I was afraid I would get stuck paying for new injectors. At the time I was seeing the signs with black smoke starting to get more noticable. When I ordered the truck I was thinking at least 200,000 miles before getting a new truck. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| There is no way that I would spend $30K+ on a new truck with an unproven engine design.
I don't care who made it.. Let someone else be GM's guinea pig..

| Yea, I had a 2oo4 F25o with a PSD 6.utoh. Not even the first year but what o pos.
The Ram EcoD had some teething problems they seem to have worked out. The 3.5 Eboost Ford had some also (minor is all I heard about). I woul expect minor problems with the Jag motor. I would expect major problems with this new I6.

| I guess we'll all see but I like the idea of going down a better path. They say inline engines are inherently better aside from packaging issues. Fewer parts, less complicated, less expensive, more naturally balanced, more torque, ...

| Sounds like the sales pitch GM used in the early '00s when the atlas family of modular engines was released. | |

I'm not saying this I6 or more options in general are a bad thing. I'm saying, the new motor will have to be proven reliable before I consider it an option. There are too many proven options for me to be a test mule for any manufacture.
