Got some bad news last night.

My daughter went to the oncologist for her checkup after having chemo, radiation, and surgery to remove cancer in her breast. The test came back showing 2 suspicious spots in her lymph nodes and are now calling for a biopsy. For what they can tell, it hasn't spread yet. The chemo did some damage to her bones and the pain she has been feeling has been a broken sternum. She has a 9 month old son, and I truly think if she didn't have the baby she would end it all. I'm really freaked out over this. Her last surgery was in December. She is warn down by this.

That broken sternum is no joke either. A football injury tore all my cartridge in my sternum once, no fun.

Everything comes at once. After 25 years I may split from my wife. Hasn't been a good week.

It's been a rough week. I'm trying to think things over rather than react and say something I can't take back. It's like walking a tightrope.
I think with the problems my daughter is having makes me say what I should hold back on saying but my emotions are getting the better of me and I say what's been on my mind. I haven't seen my wife since school is out as she goes to Georgia with one of my daughters. My daughter is now home for over a week and I feel I'm running everything at home and watching the kids while she sits back and hangs out. We talked tonight and she is coming home in a day or two. It's stuff that has been simmering for years and is now coming out with all the stress going on.

Advice from a co-worker (now divorced ) is don't ask her "are you stoned or stupid? ", doesn't go good.

She is as straight as one could be, smart as a whip, too smart for her own good sometimes. I'm taking it slow and seeing if we can make it work, but her mood swings are just huge.

Sorry to hear about all of whats going on. Best thing is to think it over, pray about it and then talk to your wife openly and honestly. But not everything needs to be worked out in one talk.

Hopefully your daughters tests will come back better than anyone expects. You hear those stories where people arent supposed to ever walk again or talk again, etc. She could also be one of those stories where things just start falling into place and things happen and you don't even realize all the good thats happening.

We have found out the cancer in my daughter has spread to her ribs, that's not a good sign. She started a new chemo therapy last week.

She has started a new chemo therapy last weekend. I haven't talked to her since Wednesday, but at that point she was feeling well and not yet getting sick from the chemo. She is very private on this and really doesn't talk about it so I have to constantly call my ex-wife to find out more. She usually opens up when I stop by here house. We were supposed to go to dinner last weekend but her husband hurt his back and they couldn't make it.

Sometimes one has to wonder if they are intentionally being private or just that they are processing so much internally.
I'm sure she has dozens of people wanting updates but for her to address everyone is too much to expect.
To that end parents should be in the top tier but I know from experience that is not how it works out, both from me passing stuff on to my parents and my kids talking to my wife more than me(most times).

She doesn't want to come to family gathering or meet with her friends because she doesn't want to keep repeating her treatments over and over. I understand that as it gets her depressed. On one day she is certain she will die within the year, other days she is more optimistic.

I'm sure it gets tiresome repeating the same unpleasant news over and over again. Its good though that she has people around that care and want to know.
