Back to a Truck

We picked up a Polaris RZR XP 1000 and a 12ft dovetail trailer to haul it on back in July. Even with 4.56 gears on both Jeeps, neither one pulls it all that great. Slightest hills bog them down. Colorado pull would kill them. The 3.6 engine just isn't a puller.

So I'm trading out of my JK for a 2017 Ram 1500 with 3.92 gears, rear anti-slip, 5.7, 8-speed auto, 32 gallon fuel tank, trailer package with the built in brake controller. Looked pretty hard at a diesel this time, but they are just too damn proud of them to make any serious deals on.

I'm in shock! You put a lot of work into that truck. I'm guessing your wife will still keep her Jeep?

Yeah, she's keeping hers. Just got mine where I want it too.

They pull "ok" if all of the towing would be around here. They wouldn't make the trip towing up to Colorado and back though. Just not enough ass in the 3.6 engines to pull the long grades.

That's a shame, she was looking real good with all the mods, suspension.

$3400 would get a banks sidewinder turbo kit for the 3.6L jeep. So maybe he was just looking for a reason to buy a new truck?

Did you think of buying a trailer to tow the jeep and polaris yet?

I'm shocked too with all the stuff you did to the Jeep. Why not trade hers in and have her drive yours?

Hers is pretty well built up too. I've done a lot to both of them.
