Here is a video I made of my new Milwaukee high torque impact driver busting some nuts on a 70 ford l800 truck .

They are impressive. I bought a Ridgid over the summer and did the struts and shocks on my sons car 2 weeks ago and it worked great and still had 3/4 battery power left after taking off 4 tires and all the big nuts and bolts on the struts and shocks. Worth the money. I used a torque wrench to put them back on as those guns easily can ruin an aluminum wheel.

As for the reverse threads, you will see them on the right front wheel on a lot of the big and older 4wd trucks. On most models there is an "R" or "L" on the end of the stud. Dodge did it on their pickups also in the old days. When in 4wd, it would prevent the lugs from coming off on that side. First time I encountered this was around 1976 when I first driving concrete trucks. We had to change our flats ourselves as the mechanics were always too busy to help. Huge breaker bar about 4' long usually got them started.

Enjoy the impact gun.

I stripped out the first lug nut because it's reverse thread , makes me wonder how much power it takes to strip out a nut that size .

Milwaukee and Snap On best two 1/2" impacts on the market. I have a Snap On because the entire kit was already on sale plus the new route owner had an additional promotional deal plus I got someother goodies with it so it made it well worth it. Plus everywhere else had to order the Milwaukee at the time, this was in my hand and using it to pull drive shafts and pinning brakes within the hour of buying it. I did have to tap a rear yoke because I stripped by accident.

If the mechanic at work didn't show me, I would have been trying to take the lug nut off all day. It makes sense, but at the time I was around 23 and had never seen a reverse thread on a wheel.

I have a Snap On 1/2" air gun since 1988. I had new gaskets put in once about 10 years ago and it still works fine. I just don't like dragging 100' of hose out to the truck to work on it.

Bought a 1/2" Milwaukee fuel, not sure on model but really like it. It's the large body, not the small driver
.
Don't have a big compressor right now so can't use my 3/4" IR impact at this time.

I've go the cheapie Harbor Freight Earthqauke 20v 1/2 impact. Been awesome so far. Blows away my air impacts. No real comparison at all.

I've been reading up on the Milwaukee. Haven't seen a bad review yet. Beast is a term I have come across again and again.

I do think the milwaukee may be a hair better then snap on. But I was able to squeeze the Snap On dealer for a better deal, and I had it right then and there opposed to be waiting 2-3 weeks of back order for the milwaukee. But it's the best thing I ever bought, minus having to fix a yoke. Laughing

I ran across my 1/2" Fuel model at a random Home Depot we stopped at.
They had it on clearance for $176 where a standard brushed model goes for $169.
Only one on the shelf so I grabbed it, only regret was not getting one sooner.
