| This now has enough substance to garner real attention and conversation. Article V of the Constitution affords two procedures, one led by US House and Senate, the other by the States. Since it seems both parties at the federal level are mired in who can top who can top who deceit and the most acquired power, it's no surprise this effort has started within the state legislatures. Indiana makes the sixth state, including Tennessee, Georgia, Alaska, Florida, and Alabama to pass Article V resolutions. http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/barbara-hollingsworth/indiana-passes-article-v-resolution-6th-state-call-convention - Quote :
- Resolutions were introduced in 37 states during the current session and have passed in at least one legislative chamber in Arizona, South Dakota, Utah, Virginia, and West Virginia, Mark Meckler, a leader of the Convention of States Project, told CNSNews.com on Tuesday.
An Article V Convention of the States requires 2/3's of the states to pass similar resolutions, and then 3/4's of states are needed to ratify.

| Maybe there's hope for term limits and balanced budgets.
Hopefully this originates from "the people" and not political parties in the hope of avoiding the same ole' gridlock.

Following the others states activity up and to this point, it's a well grounded grass rooted effort. You are absolutely correct though about the risk. Saboteurs infiltrating and subverting the effort within, is understood to be attempted. The people leading these charges are aware. Now if they can anticipate and prevent such is a major unknown. To a lesser extent much like the Tea Party tried, it was subverted and co-opted early on. People attaching themselves to the movement that have never voted down spending, or voted to make government smaller.
