He is a funny comedian, but having listened to his part on guns in America he still doesn't get the picture. He doesn't see the big picture. His home country (Australia) confiscated guns a few years back and claims to be more safe. Their are so many radical terrorists living in Australia that the local citizen has no way to defend themselves.
He clearly doesn't understand the home invasion problems in America. He acts as if it is a non violent crime.

For improved gun control, I recommend lots of practice and range time.

The wife wants a Glock G42, does anyone here have one of those that could comment on it.

Don't have the G42. Would love to get one. My carry is very similar to the G42, Springfield Armory XDS 9mm. It's a polymer construction frame like the Glock, the grip feels similar a Glock. I prefer the XDS over my wife's Smith and Wesson M&P Shield 9mm which has an odd almost two stage trigger pull if you have a slow action on the trigger.

I have a G23 floating around that I used to carry, just too big and heavy. But like a Glock, it's simple to operate, and works I would imagine the G42 is no different.

Let us know your impressions after you get it. Smile

The thing you won't hear about Australia after the gun confiscation is that violent crime is up tipple digits, rape, assaults, you name it.

They also don't have the same demographics as we do. Seems some ethic groups have a greater propensity than others at criminal behavior. FBI uniform crime reports vet this out in exacting detail.

So yea its easy to say on the surface we have less mass shootings, etc. Though that doesn't disclose the other factors that have flourished after confiscation.

I've read the G42's have a light recoil and an easy slide. I need to get one in my hands to check out for myself.

Yup, it will be like every time until every law abiding citizen is allowed to carry.

But citizens don't need to carry their own weapons. All they do is kill innocent people. Its the governments responsibility to keep us all safe, that's why we have police, FBI, CIA, NSA, DHS, TFI, INR, DEA, I&A, OICI, DIA...etc

I would now laugh at myself but I'm too damn sad now. We have become far more of a police state than most realize or even care to realize.

To be honest, I am an NRA member because I have to be as per rules of the two guns clubs I belong to. While the NRA is putting up the fight in most of the country, they have given up on my state and will not do more than attend a meeting or two. Once you become a member get used to the monthly calls asking for money.

House democrats submitted a bill yesterday to ban assault weapons. So far about 90 democrats are on board. Likely has no chance of passing, but its early on in the process.

I have gun control, I keep my finger off the trigger, safety on, treat all guns as if they are loaded, and know the target and beyond.

Nothing can cause a run on guns like an idiot Democrat in Washington.

It seems the IS terrorists want to assault us, we may as well have the right weapon to deal with them.

We might offend one of them by using an "assault weapon" in self defense. It offends the shit out of Democrats, and they will do whatever they can to make sure it never offends a muslim.

Speaking of the Religion of Peace, when is the next LGBT Pride and Womens Rights Parade happening in one of their peaceful countries? Anyone have the schedule?

We subdued another weapon and brought it under control.

The wife picked up a Glock 42 through her channels at work for wholesale cost. $320, and a $25 FFL transfer fee.

Need to get out and put a few hundred rounds through it and break it in now....

Very nice, cost is also very good.
I'm in no hurry to purchase but I have been looking at Sig's and the M & P line in handgun. It seems as of late, my 3 brothers and I have been doing a lot more shooting on the weekends at my brothers farm.

Everything I've read about the M&P line is how the trigger sucks and needs work out of the box, but they are good after that.

Not read much on the Sigs.

I've never been much of a Glock fan either, but the combo of size, slide pull and easy recoil on this one fits my wifes needs.

I like a good 1911. Those are my favorites.

Two years ago I sold a mint Beretta 380 that was a nice size conceal. I hadn't shoot it in quite a while. Now I kick myself for selling it. My wife the other night complained to me over selling it, but I reminded her she hadn't herself shoot it for over 10 years. Now I have to find something that she can handle. My Ruger 9mm is too much for her.

Interesting, the trigger pull on the S & W seemed to be a problem. They are too small for my hands, and although women's hands are smaller, they still had problems with the grip. My 380 held 8 rounds and for me that was at least 2 rounds shy. Full size Ruger is 15 +1.
Bottom line shoot it before you buy one. The Glock seemed like the best choice.

I put in for 3 handgun permits today, yea I live in a communist state. I like the Glock 42, showed my wife and am seriously thinking about getting her one. She still wants to see some others but IMO that would be perfect for her.
I'm thinking of selling a couple firearms that I haven't shot in a while like my 12/22 an maybe my waterfowl semi-auto shotgun, but hate to let go of anything.

Still haven't gotten to shoot the little one yet though...

Will that be her conceal carry, or just another one in a collection. I'm looking for a CC for the wife, she used to have a Beretta 380, great handgun but very heavy for the size?

They've got the classroom time down to four hours now, plus the qualification. Biggest pain is the paperwork and process from the state. Takes them two to three months to process.
