Greg,
Have a Happy Thanksgiving day today.
I didn't realize it was so early in Canada. Is it like the U.S. with turkey and football games?
Rich

Thanks Rich.
Football isn't a big deal during Thanksgiving for us, but turkey is usually the meal. It's usually close to the start of hockey season though. The holiday is not nearly as big a deal up here as it is in the States, but is is a great time to get the family together. We had our daughter here with her husband and son for a couple of nights. Always good to see them.

Not a great time of year for me personally though. Although our government won't admit it, we are in a bit of a recession. I'm in the process of selling our home and downsizing into a smaller older home. As if that wasn't enough to deal with, my work handed me my third lay-off notice this year after work on Friday. Done the end of this week. Hopefully the bank doesn't find out because we haven't finished closing our new home yet. Fortunately they already have my work info and pay stubs to date. Hopefully that is enough and the deal doesn't fall through. Fingers crossed.

Curling is a lot of fun, usually because there's always a bar at the curling rink.

I hope the new/old home works out. I know your predicament, I want to buy a new vehicle but being retired (for now) it's hard to show we qualify. We have always out right bought our vehicles but I can't spend savings as there is no way for now to put it back. Doing the math, I should be able to go back to part time teaching after January 1, if the district still needs help. I'm not allowed any contact with any state agency until then or they will say it is pre-planned and take away my meager pension.

Enjoy the time with your family. I don't see myself standing on ice while drinking, I need to sit for that lol!

Hopefully things make a quick turn for the better in Canada. OPEC just announced a lowered production quota and oil has been rising for a few weeks.
