Monday in Texas Empty
PostSubject: Monday in Texas   Monday in Texas EmptyJuly 6th 2015, 4:46 pm

Rode in to work this morning on the Harley, got off the bike, stowed my gear, switched out glasses, or tried to, ear piece broke off my bifocals, tumbled, bumbled and kicked them across the concrete lot. Ruined one lens. 5 years in and they died hard.

Went over to Lenscrafters in the mall at lunch, my vision insurance is good there, and I could get a pair made today. Got through the $10 copay exam, pretty large change in the prescription, walked next door, picked out a pair, paid $288 and change, went over to the food court, had a philly cheese, piddled around a bit, dropped a deuce and about an hour later, the text came that my glasses were ready. Few minor adjustments and I'm seeing the world in HD again...shouldn't have waited 5 years between pairs.

Had the exact same day almost. I did have a Philly Cheese Steak. At least you got a pair by the end of the day. My prescription change very little year to year. I keep my old glasses just in case an when I wear them, I really don't see much change.

I do miss that benefit from my old job. $300 for eyeglass, $200 for work boots. I took the boots every year but screwed up by not buying the glasses. I bought glasses every other year.
