| Sounds so freakin old, more in my head than anything else. Where did the time go? You know your getting old when I want a new shotgun for my birthday but my wife thinks I should buy a recliner so I can read and watch TV in my bedroom. Screw the chair, I want a new trap gun. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| I have a range of kids from a 37 year old son down to a 12 year old daughter. My wife let me pick out a shotgun for my birthday. Signed all the paperwork, but the state is 10 days wait since so many people are buying. After I got home, I did more research and found a number of people were having trouble shooting trap with this model auto-loader. I called up Dicks and told them I didn't want it but I still had to pay $15 for the state police background check. Oh well, I'd rather lose the $15 than have a gun that won't eject light loads. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

Good call on the shotty. What kind are you looking for now? I'm deciding between a Remington 1100 or 1187, or maybe a Weatherby auto loader. Not in a hurry, even a good used one will do. I shoot about 75-100 clay per week. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| I ended up ordering a Weatherby sa-08 toay. It will be here by Monday but the state is backed up on their background checks so I won't get it for 14 days from now. It's far from being the top of the line, but will be good for the trap I shoot. This is the model I picked. http://www.weatherby.com/product/shotguns/sa_08/sa08_synthetic ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| 14 days! I get ammo through the mail quicker than that. That's a damn good price for the shotgun. I had figured Weatherby's to be hi-line and high priced. I gonna have to do some research now. Thanks for teaching me some. ____________________________________ Why not?

| For another $100 I could have gotten it with the walnut furniture, but things are going to get tight next month as school ends and my wife doesn't get paid again until September so I figured spend a little less. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| Thanks Evan. I looked at my texts and realized we have talked in quite a while. I'll give you a link here and you can look over some of the dates that are open and we can see when we can get together for some range time. http://www.mcrpcnj.com/event_schedule.htmlThe morning shoots are usually over by noon, so we can at least get the afternoon in almost every day. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

............ +1. I used to think 60 was old geezerhood but I'm not too far behind you. If you're still around to complain about it, it's all good. I've had too much recliner time the last few months (not by choice) .... you chose well- the Weatherby will be a lot more fun. Save the new recliner for when you really need it. | |

| Okay Evan. I know how the work thing gets in the way of fun. I was able to get out today for a couple quick rounds of trap. I'm rusty, there was a hard wind blowing making my eyes water, but I still did okay. I even won a free round by hitting a green clay.
I still feel young at 60, keep telling myself the back aches and knee pains are just a passing thing. A recliner would still be nice for nights I want to read upstairs instead of the living room listening to the kids busting each others stones. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| Thanks Bam, The one and probably only good thing about turning 60 is that I'm automatically vested in the pension. In 2 more months I would be vested at 10 years anyway. Now my wife wants me to retire and move to Georgia. The only way I could do that is if my son in college had someplace to come home to like Long Island or CT LOL! ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.
