Sounds good but it hasn't materialized in Ram HD pickups for awhile.

Before all the emissions crap the 2nd gen Rams with the 5.9 Cummins used to kill on MPG. You'd easily get 20-22mpg in a 4x4 2500 going down the hiway. It has since went down hill with the 3rd gen Ram starting around '03 and the 6.7l was even worse.

The 12 valve was more fuel efficient than the 24 valve. Hopefully Cummins has been doing their homework as Fiat won't blink about finding a better choice.

I'm surprised Cummins isn't leading the pack in fuel efficiency with all their apparent on and off-road experience. Maybe off-road experience doesn't translate well to on-road?
