| Before all the emissions crap the 2nd gen Rams with the 5.9 Cummins used to kill on MPG. You'd easily get 20-22mpg in a 4x4 2500 going down the hiway. It has since went down hill with the 3rd gen Ram starting around '03 and the 6.7l was even worse. | |

| The 12 valve was more fuel efficient than the 24 valve. Hopefully Cummins has been doing their homework as Fiat won't blink about finding a better choice.
I'm surprised Cummins isn't leading the pack in fuel efficiency with all their apparent on and off-road experience. Maybe off-road experience doesn't translate well to on-road? | |
