Cab Configurations (RANT)

Got a bit of a rant here.

Not sure what is so difficult about understanding what GM's cab configurations are (or Ram's and Toyota's too for that matter). Some people seem to think that just because their rear doors open in a conventional manner, that their truck must be a crew cab. Not so much! It's all about rear space, leg room, door size. Really! It's not a difficult process. And yes, Ford has the only current generation full size truck on the market with the rear hinged, suicide style extended cab rear doors.

And while I'm at it, for those that think the new mid-size trucks are roughly the same size as full size trucks, here's a look at the GMC's.

I agree with you on the cabs.
Reg, extended and crew. Never liked the double cab when Dodge came out with it either.

The canyon may look small compared to the 1500 but so does my GMT400 K3500.

Americans are increasingly lazy and can't invest themselves to understand much of anything outside of who won American idol, Labron is still having cramps, Kim has gained some weight, or if the new iPhone 5ssisis release date has changed.

I don't believe any truck manufacture has any "crew" nomenclature involved in larger cab configuration above the regular cab.

Ram = Quad
Toyota = Double
GM = Double
Ford = Super

Someone showcased the external dimension specifications for the GMT400 1500's and the new Colorado/Canyon, and they weren't laughable dissimilar.

Anyone else having any issue with the images loading?  Seems all images hosted from *.servimg.com are slow or never load.  Been like this for days, least for me.

First I've heard of any issues with the images Derek. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I'll definitely look into it.

Prior to the late nineties, all extended cab pickups only had two doors, and any truck with four doors was considered a 'crew cab'. When extended cabs started arriving with rear doors, confusion started to set in, specifically when Ram and Toyota introduced the conventionally opening rear doors on their extended cab trucks. Ram added to the confusion by calling the Ram 1500 extended cab a Quad Cab (originally with suicide rear doors) and the full four door Dakota (a crew cab in actuality) a Quad Cab. Not sure what they were thinking there.

Been that way for days.  I cleared cache, used different browser.  I was noticing the same effect on other postings using servimg, not isolated to one post.  Miraculously after stating such, they seem to be working as expected and displaying.  Previously about a quarter of the image would display, then finally the browser would give up leaving a broken image icon on the screen.

I generally do all my posts through iOS on my iPad. Wonder if that has any bearing on the issue. I am having issues this morning with all threads within NAPTO taking long times to open, but the images are there upon completion. Also the screen size appears to be irregularly larger than normal.

Are you saying the issue seems to be corrected right now? I did have a look around but I don't think I made any changes.

The problem no load or multi-minute load of images was consistent for the last couple days or more.  Just this morning it cleared up about the same time as my post.  Likely coincidental. All the posts within the last few days were affected.

Checking again, all posts are working correctly at this time.
